The Thai Chamber of Commerce is making moves to finalize a master plan to address the changes being brought with the global economic recovery.  The plan will be the main point of business at the Chamber’s annual meeting being held on Saturday, 28 November, sources reported.

Private sector development in seven key industrial areas is the primary focus of the plan, including: food and agriculture, jewelry, garments, construction, tourism, healthcare and cross-border trade.

The plan intends to implement changes that will: promote Thailand’s standard of food production and increase food security, especially by focusing on key food exports such as rice and pineapple; let Thailand become a center for garment production and design by increasing efficiency and competition; doubling the country’s gem and jewelry exports; and increasing cross-border trade, particularly through making new border points with surrounding countries.
