Bomb Blasts and Shooting in Jakarta, at Least Six Dead
Six people have been killed including three police officers in seven blasts in the Indonesian capital Jakarta.
Taking place late this morning, The President of Indonesian Joko Widodo called the blasts “acts of terror.”
The first blast took place in a Starbucks coffee shop, the second outside a police kiosk.
Hundreds of police, including snipers are on the streets exchanging gunfire with the attackers.
No organization has yet claimed responsibility for the attack. In the past Indonesia has received threats from Islamic extremist groups including the Islamic State.
Widodo has urged the public not to speculate over who is behind the attacks.
