Obama Policy Change Means More STD Sufferers Can Enter US

In 2009 President Obama lifted the policy that banned non-US HIV sufferers from entering the States. Now, the administration has gone a step further and is dropping the entry ban for three more sexually transmitted diseases.

As Breitbart reports, now foreigners with chancroid, granuloma inguinale and lymphogranuloma venereum may travel freely.

Now, the only diseases barred entry as “communicable diseases of public health significance” are tuberculosis, leprosy, syphilis and gonorrhea.

Policy analyst Jon Feere from the Center for Immigration Studies feels the change in rules may have public health consequences. He says:

“This change in policy illustrates, once again, that increased immigration is the main goal of the Obama administration, no matter the costs […] The administration itself estimates that more people will become infected and that there will be increased health care costs as a result of these changes. But obviously these are considerations that have little relevance for those with an open-border perspective.”
