China Considered Using Drones in Drug Lord Bust
Chinese officials weighed using unmanned surveillance aircraft on foreign soil to bomb a Myanmese drug lord, according to Liu Yuejin, the director of China’s anti-drug bureau.
Naw Kham, the ringleader in a large drug trafficking scheme, is wanted for killing 13 Chinese sailors in 2011. Chinese officials were considering using drones carrying TNT to bomb an area in mountainous northeastern Myanmar where he was believed to be hiding.

Liu stated that authorities dismissed the idea since they wanted to catch Kham alive. Had the Chinese used the drone in an attack on foreign soil, the incident would have caused international controversy, reports the South China Morning Post.
