US Court Green Lights Thailand Cave Defamation Lawsuit Against Musk
A US court recently gave the okay to a defamation lawsuit filed against Elon Musk by one of the rescue divers who heroically helped save the youth soccer team trapped in a cave in Northern Thailand.
On Twitter, Musk had called the rescuer Vernon Unsworth as a “pedo guy” and also told a journalist that Unsworth was a “child rapist”.
The public squabble between the two started after Unsworth publicly slammed Musk’s child-sized mini rescue submarine a “pr stunt”.
Musk then told Unsworth to “stick his submarine where it hurts”.
Although Musk’s legal team initially tried to get the lawsuit dropped based on an argument centered on freedom of speech, a California judge disagreed and gave the lawsuit the green light to be tried in court.
