Thailand, Palestine Announce Diplomatic Relations
The PA Foreign Ministry has announced that the Palestinian Authority has established diplomatic relations with Thailand.
Relations were officially upgraded on Wednesday and diplomatic affairs will be handled at the Palestinian embassy in Malaysia until an embassy in Bangkok is opened, according to a ministry statement.
The establishment of full diplomatic relations was agreed at a meeting between PA Foreign Ministr Riyad al-Malki and the deputy foreign minister of Thailand in July, where the ministers agreed to formally announce the launch in August. Thailand officially recognized the State of Palestine on January 19th.
