Thailand Lifts Curfew But Martial Law Remains
The National Council for Peace and Order (NCPO) has now lifted the curfew from Thailand, however the country remains under Martial Law.
Curfew has been imposed since 22 May 2014 when everyone in Thailand was required by the Thai Royal Military to remains indoors between the hours of 10pm-5am. As time proceeded the hours became more relaxed.
To date, the Coup has had a major impact on tourism in Thailand, and in particular Bangkok where the main effects have been felt, with many well known tourist sports such as Khao San Road being noticeably quieter. The lifting of the curfew is hoped to cause tourists to return to Bangkok and other parts of Thailand.
