Thai Government Bans Generic Xanax
Thailand’s Ministry of Public Health has banned the generic version of Xanax, a stress-relief drug.
Alprazolam, commonly sold by street-side vendors, is being outlawed because of its escalating use in sex crimes. It allegedly has been used in date-rape incidents that ended in death several times. Drug stores also will be prohibited from selling the drug and are required to return inventories. State hospitals and medical schools are exempt.
Chaninat and Leeds attorneys handle drug offenses in Thailand, including possession, consumption, and distribution of illegal narcotics.
The decrees take affect June 17.
