New U.S. Securities Law to Benefit Real Estate Investors
A new U.S. securities law that will help startup companies raise money will also help real estate investors. The Jumpstart Our Business Startups (JOBS) Act will allow individuals to buy stakes in offices and commercial properties that were once off-limits to them.
The JOBS Act eases restrictions on investments in closely held companies, “including those set up to own commercial property, by people making less than $200,000 a year and with a net worth of less than $1 million.”
