IKEA Ad Upsets Thailand’s Ladyboys

The transgender community in Thailand is outraged by IKEA’s mocking of the ladyboy culture in a recent televised ad. The “Forget to Deceive” ad depicts a woman, so excited by a bargain at the store that she speaks in a deep male voice, scaring a man away.

The Thai Transgender Alliance says the ad is negative and stereotypical in nature.
