High-Speed Rail from Bangkok-Korat to Start Construction
Thailand’s high-speed rail project will start in November with the construction of a route between Bangkok and Korat, according to Coconuts Bangkok.
The Ministry of Transport announced that civil design will commence on October 9th, after which construction will begin during the following month.

The State Railway of Thailand is working on the project with a team of Chinese Engineers, who are required to pass examinations on the legal and ethical codes for foreign engineers in Thailand and environmental safety before the work can commence.
Khorat is well-known for the Khao Yai National Park, an expansive wildlife refuge with hiking trails and driving routes. The park also has freely-roaming elephants, monkeys and big cats. This is partly why Korat has become increasingly popular for real estate developers.
Since the big floods of 2011, most purchasers are Bangkok residents seeking a second home in a flood-free area. However, Thailand real estate lawyers warn that illegal title deeds that encroach on public land have become an increasingly large problem in Thailand.
