Hot! Gang Arranges Fake Gay Marriages for British Citizenship Exposed

A criminal gang in London offering to arrange fake gay marriages to help immigrants trick officials for citizenship was exposed this week by an undercover journalist with BBC Inside Out.

Same-sex marriages were legalized in the UK in March, and criminal gangs have capitalized on the fairly recent legislation by offering fake gay marriage services to immigrants searching for a permanent way to stay in London, according to the BBC.

BBC reported that the BBC reporter posed as an immigrant in the UK illegally and met with gang leaders who boasted of their experience setting up “fixed” wedding “lots of times,” for the price of £10,000.

The gang leaders explained that tricking the immigration officials was “easy for gay” and introduced the undercover reporter to two different women who would pose as her fake partner for immigration authorities, reports BBC.

The number of reported fake weddings has recently tripled, and, according to the BBC, Mark Rimmer, head of Registration and Nationality Services at Brent Council, said reasons for this could be because registrars are too embarrassed to question same-sex couples or too inexperienced in same-sex body language to spot something amiss.
