Court Hears Homeschooling Case
A German family is in court fighting for their right to homeschool their children. The Romeike family came to the US five years ago hoping to homeschool their children, which is illegal in Germany. Now the Obama administration is attempting to deport them, “arguing that homeschooling is not a right,” reports CBN.
The family is seeking political asylum. They fear that if they return to Germany, they’ll undoubtedly be fined and custody of their children might be threatened. The Romeikes are claiming their religious freedoms are being violated. US Attorney General Eric Holder says that “asylum should not be granted to home-schoolers since home-schooling is not protected under religious freedom.”
