Chile and Thailand Finish FTA Negotiations
Bangkok Post | Chile and Thailand have finished negotiations for their free trade agreement (FTA) and plan to have the treaty take effect by the middle of next year.
FTA negotiations cover trade in goods, cooperation, rules of origins, customs procedures, sanitary and phytosanitary measures, technical obstacles to trading, legal issues an services and investment.
According to Chilean ambassador Javier Becker, the talks are awaiting the final political process. Chile has been upping its measures in international trade and investment while also linking trade agreements with the U.S., the EU, South Korea, Japan, China, Brunei, Singapore, and Malaysia.
