Burma, Mekong Neighbors Consider Shared Visa
Burma and three other Southeast Asian countries situated along the Mekong River reached an agreement in Vietnam’s capital last week to cooperate on boosting tourism in the region, according to a report by Travel Daily News.
To reach a target of 25 million international visitors from 2013 to 2015, the four countries are also considering implementing a single CLMV (Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar and Vietnam) visa, the report said. The proposed visa could also later include Thailand, which is currently thinking of issuing a shared visa with Cambodia.
