Burma: International Telecommunications Companies Risk Being Linked to Human Rights Abuses
International telecommunications companies are at risk of being linked to human rights abuses if they enter the Burmese market ahead of sufficient protections are introduced, Human Rights Watch warned in a new report released today.
Burma’s human rights issues regarding the internet and telecommunications are not yet adequate and so companies need to tred carefully to ensure no abuses are linked to their operations.
