According to nbc4i.com, it will soon be legal to run a red light in Ohio, provided that it malfunctions.

House Bill 154 was passed by the state legislature and signed by Governor Kasich in December. Nbc4i.com states that it “changes the protocol for proceeding into an intersection that has malfunctioning traffic signals.”

The new law will treat the failure of a vehicle detector to detect a vehicle the same as the signal being out. If a driver thinks the signal is malfunctioning, he can proceed to the intersection carefully.
