by Admin on January 13, 2014

The “Bangkok Shutdown” has started today, on Monday 13th January from 9 a.m. onwards and it is estimated that it could last as long as 5-20 days. There are seven main protest sites: targets include Victory Monument, Lad Prao Intersection, Phatumwan Intersection (MBK/Siam), Ratchprasong Intersection (Central World), Asoke Intersection (Terminal 21) & Sala Daeng Intersection (Silom). The protestors have promised not to disrupt the buses, skytrain or subway and will stay away from the airports.

Thailawforum has today attended Asoke BTS  to take footage of the protests being held there:

haven’t been to the rally sites to see the action for myself, but from the footage it all seems very peaceful at this stage.
