The police investigation into the murder of Akeyuth Anchanbutr has created high levels of controversy.
The Nation reports that the police are not required by law to include a crime re-enactment in their investigation, which begs the question of why do they still make suspects re-enact a crime they allegedly committed and risk breaching human rights violations?

In a western system this would be totally illegal because of police material involvement in coercing testimonial, it would be a violation of human rights, could lead to self incrimination and any potential juror who viewed the re-enactment would be prejudiced as a witness.
