US Visas in Thailand

The issue of Mexicans coming into the US without valid or legal visas and then being granted amnesty has caused frustration for those who try to come into the country legally.

Illegal immigration in the US has its problems because yes, it is illegal, but also because these people have been pardoned by the government making it unfair for the numerous people trying to obtain valid US visas. While the US government may feel that bringing illegal aliens into compliance with the law is more important than punishing them for this offense, many Thai nationals wanting to enter the US have questioned this way of thinking.

For those in Thailand who comply with the law and wait for an available US visa in Thailand there is also the debate of President Obama not being in favor of the DREAM Act. Instead, his policy removes the immediate threat of deportation and even gives Mexicans the chance to work in the US. Thai laws and US laws can make the visa process a tedious affair this has not discouraged many nationals from going the lawful route.

Also, US citizens who have been paying taxes now have to compete for jobs with amnestied children of families who have worked in the black market and repatriated their money back to Mexico while eschewing taxes.  Fairness has taken on a whole new meaning full of debate.
