Unmarried Sex to be Outlawed in Indonesia

According to 9Honey, sex between unmarried couples could soon become illegal in Indonesia.

A petition to change the criminal code has been put forward to the country’s Constitutional Court by a group called the Family Love Alliance. If it successfully becomes law, it could mean that Western tourists could be arrested for having sex outside of marriage while on vacation.

This is worrying for Australians, as Indonesia is the second most popular tourist destination for them, with more than a million Aussies heading there each year.

It’s thought that the petition was put forward to target same-sex couples, who are prohibited from marrying under Indonesian law.
