Surprising Toyota Commercial

Toyota recently came out with a Japanese car commercial featuring a topless androgynous individual. The commercial, for the new Auris, shows a woman in red underwear and high heels who slips off the raincoat she is wearing then turns to the camera to reveal she is a man. The Japanese tagline is: “Let’s turn our back on common sense.”

The androgynous model, 20-year-old Stav Strashko, was discovered by an Israeli stylists at 17 and began working as a child model in 2010. He has a boyfriend and says he is often mistaken for a girl when he meets people.

Thailand transsexuals have already been making headlines from cabaret shows to sexual services. However, as far as the Thai government is concerned, male to female transsexuals are legally men. Transsexuals cannot legally change their gender on their ID cards, which can lead to legal concerns such as marriage and passports.

Transgender Father Calls Breastfeeding Ruling “Unfair”

Transgender father, Trevor MacDonald, says his bid to become leader of a breastfeeding support group http://news.nationalpost.com/2012/08/20/transgender-father-says-breastfeeding-support-group-rules-unfairly-bar-him-from-becoming-a-leader/ was rejected because a man cannot take the role under La Leche League Canada policy.

Trevor, who was born female and gave birth to a son, has been breastfeeding the child using a supplemental feeding tube as well as donated breast milk. He was told that “a man cannot become an LLLC Leader.”

He considers the group’s definition poor and out of date saying the policy defined a leader as a woman.

MacDonald, who uses pseudonyms to protect the identity of his family, transitioned from female to male at age 22 by taking hormones and undergoing surgery to remove breast tissue and create a more male-appearing chest. He became pregnant by temporarily stopping his testosterone dosage.

He is able to produce a small amount of breast milk, but not as much as he needs, due to his chest surgery.

La Leche League Canada told him that their policies “do preclude men from becoming leaders” and that because he identifies himself as a father it would be difficult “to represent LLL philosophy.”
