The startup female sex droid companies, Realbotix have told the Sun UK that they are now considering Trans versions too. These robotic companions are powered by artificial intelligence software, have their own personalities and the ability to converse with their human owners. Male versions are currently in development and a talk of a transgender model is up for discussion.
Realbotix spokesperson, Al Whiz, mentions that there is a market for not only transgender but “any other sexual preferences of gender”. Whiz explains that it won’t be difficult to re-design the robot as a mixed-sex version, however the challenge lies in reprogramming the software. Realdoll, parent company to Realbotix already sells transgender dolls without the robotics component.
Trans activist have expressed their concern over whether the Trans robots were beneficial for the LGBT community. Christine Burns, a trans activist says that the robot might promote the “porn’s industry’s idea of a she-male” and reinforce the idea that trans women are sexual objects that do not have a resemblance to every day trans people.
