Thailand’s Trademark Act is Amended

Changes are taking place for Thailand’s trademark rules, with lawmakers making a move towards the Madrid Protocol, which allows member countries protection of trademarks through a “central filing system.”

As Bangkok Post reports, ascension to the Madrid Protocol has been presented to His Majesty the King for approval.

The bill includes other features, including “Sound Mark” and “Smell Mark.” These had been dismissed in a previous bill as they were deemed too difficult to determine.
