Thailand Still On US Piracy List

The Bangkok Post reports that Thailand remains on the US piracy list for the 8th year running for intellectual property violations arising out of the counterfeit goods sector.

Thailand’s presence on this US piracy list can be harmful to trade measures including recieving special duties.  However, in reality, Thailand has not yet been penalized with regard to special duties.

There are 8 red zones in Bangkok where Thailand pricted goods have been notably visible: MBK, Chatuchak, Siam Square, Sukhumvit Road, and Patpong night market.

The US is seeking for Thailand to introduce more stringent intellectual property rights laws.
