After several reports were made against a coffee brand ‘One Fan’ (Thailand) for mixing the illegal Sildenafil substance in their coffee, the Thailand Metropolitan Police Bureau and the Thai FDA seized samples to be tested by the Department of Medical Science reports Khaosod Online.

When the samples returned positive, police then seized 66,264 packages of the coffee found at the scene worth no less than THB 3 million (approximately 96,500 USD or 60,000 GBP as at October 2013 exchange rate).

Mr. Paitoon Saengseenil, a co-founder of the company, said that his company is only responsible for retailing th
e coffee, and has not been engaged in the manufacturing process of the coffee. If tests on the latest seized products reveal the same result, the manufacturing company could face charges for adding illegal ingredients into their food, and if convicted can lead to two years imprisonment and a fine of up to THB 20,000 fine (approximately 643 USD or 400 GBP).
