The widow of a Vietnamese boat captain is taking legal action on the Thai Marine Police after they killed her husband, reports Bangkok Post.

The widow, Nguyen Thi Kim Phoung, is being represented by Ha Hai & Associates, a law firm based in Ho Chi Minh City. They are requesting compensation from the Thai government.
Her husband was killed on September 11th of this year by a Thai police marine ship, in a shooting that also injured two others.
The incident took place about 40 kilometers off Narathiwat province. Police chief Somyot Pumpunmuang said on September 17th that these were disputed waters claimed by Malaysia, Vietnam and Thailand.

Ms Phoung said:
“I wish lawyers and state agencies will help me obtain justice for my deceased husband, so that his soul can rest in peace in the other world and my children will not suffer from a complex that their father violated the law so seriously that he was shot dead by the Thai police.’
