A 39-year-old Thai man committed suicide yesterday after a court ruling found the man accused of stabbing his son to death not guilty.
Following the acquittal, witnesses saw the man walking out of the courtroom in tears, before finding a window on the 8th floor and, subsequently, jumping to his death.
According to the wife, the disappointment and stress from the verdict caused her husband to jump.
The court acquitted the defendant after a key witness, who claimed to have seen the stabbing during police investigations, failed to show up to the trial amid ongoing psychiatric treatment.
The accused stabber was the sole defendant in the case.
