Texas Abortion Law Mandates Burial/Cremation of Fetal Tissue

Senate bill 8 was signed into law on Tuesday

Texas Governor Greg Abbott signed into law a bill that mandates abortion clinics to bury or cremate the fetal tissue reports Business Insider.

The law was passed on Tuesday and will go into effect starting September 1st. Other provisions in the law also include the ban of the most common second trimester abortion procedure.

The law has been celebrated by the Texas Right to Life group who have hailed it as the” most significant pro-life victory” of the legislative session.

The Republican controlled state has one of the most stringent abortion rules in the U.S. Lawmakers have defended the bill by saying that it was imperative to preserve human dignity.

In Thailand, abortion is illegal and only allowed under extenuating circumstances such as if the pregnancy was caused by rape or if the health of the mother is in danger.
