U.S Major guilty of “conduct unbecoming an officer”

Associated Press reports that former senior military aide, Major General Ron Lewis used his government supplied credit card to pay for alcohol and strippers on his trips to Rome and Seoul.
A 50 page report released by Department of Defense Inspector General describes instances of improper conduct including one where he tried to kiss a female enlisted service member late at night.
In a separate incident he had charged $1800 to his government card at a dance club called Cica cica boom boom in Rome. “Lewis said, he tried to use his personal debit card at the club, but it didn’t work, so he had to walk back to his hotel with a female employee of the club, and wake up a Defense Department staff member to get his government card to pay the bill. He said he paid back the charges when he returned to the U.S.”

Lewis claimed that the club of high establishment with respectable clientele but investigations into the club’s website proved that it was a strip club.
He also used his card at a gentleman’s club called Candy in Korea with charges totaling about $1100. The entire report was said to portray Lewis as an alcoholic whose behavior was a hot topic of discussion among service members.
According to AP Lewis criticized the report by saying that it relied too heavily on insinuations and distorted facts.
