Suspect Charged Under Boston’s New Upskirting Law

The first suspect charged under Bostons’ new upskirting law is due to be arraigned.

Joshua Gonsalves, 23, has the honor of being the first suspect arrested under Boston’s upskirting law. Gonzales was arrested for allegedly positioning an iPad under a fellow bus passenger’s dress. He told Transit Police that he had heard on the news that it wasn’t illegal to “take pictures up a girl’s skirt” reports The Boston Herald.

In March 2014 Governor. Deval Patrick signed into law an emergency bill declaring upskirting illegal in Massachusetts.A new upskirt law was necessary in Boston because the  prior law required that for a case to be successful the victim had to be nude or partially nude.
