Showing Anger in Thailand

Thailand society is less confrontational than Western Society. Displays of anger are generally frowned upon.

Shouting at people, initiating confrontations and displaying anger is a big “No-No” in Thai culture. It will not do you any good as it is frowned upon by Thais. You may encounter angry taxi drivers or rude shopkeepers; on occasion Thailand is really about “jai yen” meaning “cool heart”.
