Sex Offender Passport Mark is Dangerous, Says Attorney

by Admin on April 4, 2016

An attorney is fighting against a new federal law which would see registered sex offenders be given a mark on their passports, reports ABC News.

Janice Bellucci argues in court last Wednesday that the law, which has been proposed as a way to crack down on child sex trafficking and sex tourism, will put the offender in danger when travelling.

“Anytime somebody has a stamp on their passport and they go to another country, they are really at risk of significant physical harm,” she said.

Child custody lawyers in Thailand Chaninat and Leeds have been successfully handling sensitive family legal matters for decades.

U.S. District Court Judge Phyllis Hamilton argued that few people besides border agents would see the passport anyway.

Bellucci is part of California Reform Sex Offender Laws, and is representing plaintiffs who sued the U.S. officials over this law, arguing the passport change is a violation of their constitutional rights.
