Rentboy.com plays host to thousands of advertisements from men offering prostitution services across the United States and in other locations worldwide, including Thailand.
Subscribers pay several hundred dollars a month to advertise sexual services, and officials say the site has amassed over $10 million in gross proceeds in the past five years.
Thai divorce lawyers Chaninat and Leeds have decades of experience in successfully handling divorce cases, for both Thai nationals and foreigners.
The US government’s Department of Homeland Security has been working to shut the site, however it is still active at the time of writing. The government has seized computers from the Manhattan office of the website, and have issued warrants to seize money from six bank accounts believed to be involved, amounting to over $1.4 million.
US attorney Kelly Currie said: “This internet brothel made millions of dollars from the promotion of illegal prostitution.”
Those arrested include six men and one woman, who all face up to five years in jail and a fine of $250,000 if found guilty.
Prostitution is illegal in the United States with the exception of Nevada.
