“Family and other household members” required to alert authorities of suspicious behavior
The State of Washington is proposing a bill that will lower the bar for gun seizure by allowing authorities to seize guns from people considered “significantly more likely to commit violence toward themselves or others in the near future,” reports Zero Hedge.
The proposed bill, called the Initiative Measure 1491, is made to prevent people who are more likely to harm themselves or others around them from having access to firearms.

The measure claims that individuals who are predisposed to a crime show warning signs, either to their family, friends or to law enforcement of the danger.
Should the measure pass, Washington will be the second state, after California to allow signed petitions by family members and police to a judge to take guns from a person considered a threat.
According to the Wall Street Journal, the measure is said to have garnered widespread support by both Democrats and Republicans.
