Rihanna’s tweets and pictures on instagram from her time in Thailand are helping the Thai police fight crime!
The pop star initially posted a picture of herself with a loris in Phuket, which was retweeted worldwide. Police subsequently arrested a 20-year-old man and a 16-year-old boy, who could face charges of possession of protected animals.
Her second tweet concerned comments she made after attending a sex show. Police have this week arrested the bar owner who now faces charges of obscenity and operating an entertainment venue without a permit.
According to Thailand Attorney Jiraporn Thongphong, many foreigners that become entangled in a criminal case in Thailand are on vacation and may be engaging in high risk activities that they would not normally be involved in. In this situation, Rihanna’s liked public profile has brought unwanted attention to activities that are relatively common place in Thailand’s tourist areas.
