A federal judge has ordered that a South Dakota beef processing company’s defamation lawsuit be sent back to State court reports ABC News.
Beef Products Inc. sued American Broadcasting Companies Inc. and ABC News Inc. over its coverage of a meat product the company calls lean, finely textured beef but that reviewers have coined “pink slime.” They are seeking $1.2 billion in damages.
The Thai FDA requires importers and manufacturers in Thailand to obtain FDA approval prior to importing or manufacturing products.
Lawyers acting on behalf of ABC News accept that whilst the term “pink slime” is not flattering, it is factually accurate: raw beef is pink and has a slimy texture.
