Proposed Regulations for Facebook may Inhibit Alternative Start Ups

by Admin on March 27, 2018

The government has proposed for heavier regulations on Facebook after the Cambridge Analytica Debacle. The regulations in mind include ad transparency reporting and stronger privacy data regulations. These types of regulations would be costly to Facebook and slow down its operations.

However, Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg, has the funds to “pay his way out of the problem” whereas startup companies in that field would be seriously inhibited with little capital and employees to work against the regulations, says critics.

Those looking to invest in the next “Facebook” platform will also be deterred by the heavy regulations. Tech Crunch suggests that regulations that would protect the public’s privacy data would mean putting political advertising on internet platforms under the same review as TV and radio.
