The recent Thailand surrogacy scandals have sparked an international discussion on surrogacy laws and regulations.
Currently, the Thai Parliament is reviewing a Thailand draft surrogacy act. The draft legislation, known as the Protection of Children Born as a Result of Assisted Reproductive Technologies Bill, was actually first drafted in 2004. It was approved by the Cabinet in 2010, but never became law.
