A Michigan judge was granted joint legal custody to a rapist who impregnated his victim, Life Site News (lifesitenews) reports.
Tiffany, whose last name has been withheld, was raped by Christopher Mirasolo in 2008 when she was just twelve years old. She subsequently gave birth to a son, who is now eight.
Judge Gregory S. Ross granted Mirasolo joint legal custody over the child and informed him of his victim’s home address.
The victim is now required to negotiate parenting time with her rapist, and is unable to move more than 100 miles away from her current home without court permission.
According to Rebecca Keissling, who represented Tiffany in court, she did not consent to the order, and wasn’t given an opportunity to be heard before it was given.

The decision came after Tiffany reapplied to state assistance in July. In order to submit her application, she was required to prove paternity and seek child support first. This required Mirasolo to take a DNA test to prove he was the child’s father.
According to the Detroit News, the judge was unaware of Mirasolo’s rape conviction prior to awarding him joint custody.
