Pope Francis Supports Same-Sex Civil Unions

by Admin on September 8, 2017

According to Life Site News, Pope Francis has stated that he supports same-sex relationships being recognized by the law, in an interview published last Wednesday.

This is in stark contrast to the teachings of the Catholic Church, which says that homosexuality is ‘intrinsically disordered’. However, the Pope says that such relationships should be called ‘civil unions’ rather than marriages.

“Let us call things by their names. Matrimony is between a man and a woman. This is the precise term. Let us call the same-sex union a ‘civil union,’” he said.

The comments were made in an interview with French journalist Dominique Walton, which was published in her book, Politics and Society.
