A couple from Michigan are facing three months behind bars as well as large fines for failing to return two library books.
As Activist Post writes, the “dystopian nightmare” comes after Catherine Duren lent her son her library card to check out the Hatful of Seuss in 2014.
Her husband also withdrew a book which he failed to return.
The couple now faces 93 days in jail and a $500 fine.

Catherine tried to resolve the matter with the library, but a series of mis-communications led them to this awful predicament.
Catherine said:
If we intended to steal a book, why would we go in legally to check them out?
She added, “We were appalled, totally appalled. We didn’t commit a crime.”
