Pakistan Changes Divorce Law For Christians

The Lahore High Court (LHC) has restored Section 7 of the Christian Divorce Act of 1869, voiding the law that had only allowed Christians to get divorced providing an adultery charge.

Now, Pakistani Christian couples can divorce or file for separation in accordance with British customs.

Thai divorce attorney’s Chaninat and Leeds have been helping couples successfully part ways for decades.

Petitioner’s counsel Sheraz Zaka told the court that the UK’s Matrimonial Causes Act was now interpreted in a liberal manner, allowing Christian couples to part ways with mutual consent if their marriage has broken down.
