Since 1917, the peak has been named after the assassinated President William McKinley, who was an Ohio native. Alaskans however, have always called it Denali, and since 1975 have petitioned for it to return to its previously used name. Senator Lisa Murkowski, Republican of Alaska, has been working on this change legislatively for years, and is pleased the move has finally happened.

McKinley was never even here,” said Chery Lelis, a hotel receptionist in Anchorage, Alaska, explains the local viewpoint.

Divorce lawyers in Thailand Chaninat and Leeds are experts in successfully handling divorce cases, both between Thai nationals and foreigners in Thailand.

Mike Turner however is furious, as are many Ohioans.

He said:

“President Obama’s actions toss aside the sacrifice of President McKinley. Imagine the outrage if in 100 years, a Republican would undo John F. Kennedy’s name from landmarks?”

He also said:

“We have an anniversary coming up when Congress returns from the recess. At that time I plan to go to the House floor to commemorate our assassinated president, and to begin part of the congressional effort for legislative action.”

When asked whether he would pursue legal action over the president’s move, Turner did not say no.
