President Obama vetoes the 9/11 bill that would allow families of the victims to sue Saudi Arabia
President Barrack Obama vetoed the 9/11 bill that would have allowed the families of victims of the 9/11 tragedy to sue the Saudi Arabian government for its alleged involvement in the attack.
According to The Washington Times, this decision has sparked dissidence from the congress that had unanimously backed the bill earlier this year.
In his veto message to the congress, Obama said that although he felt deep sympathy for the families of the victims, the bill would invite retaliatory lawsuits from other countries against the US for past grievances.
