The Thailand cabinet has approved amendments to company registration laws to each the company registration process.
In June 2020, Thailand’s cabinet approved amendments to the Civil and Commercial Code to ease the company registration process in Thailand. The proposed amendments may take effect by 2021.
The amendments to the Civil and Commercial Code should simplify the company formation process, allow for corporate merger provisions, and ensure timely dividend payments.
Further, pursuant to the amendments, company dividends will be paid within one month from the approval of shareholders meetings between shareholders and directors.
The new amendments are intended to provide stimulus to Thailand’s economy by making investment and conducting doing business in Thailand easier for foreigners and Thais.
