Missouri Authorities Walk in on Worst Animal Abuse Case

by Admin on April 27, 2018

Authorities from Morgan County, Missouri, investigated a property owned by 49 year old Julie Bernet who bred German shepherd’s imported from Europe. What they saw was “disturbing and horrific” says assistant District Attorney, Jason Covington.

Authorities reported seeing three dead dogs, one partially eaten and one walking around with another dog’s head in its mouth. The rest were starving, “without proper shelter, food, or access to water in below freezing conditions”.

Covington says that Bernet’s breeding business failed, the electricity to the property shut off and the animals left unattended. Last year, Bernet was charged with 11 counts of animal cruelty and put on probation.

After that she was charged in a separate animal abuse case and sentenced to a year in prison. Authorities arrested her at the casino and later found a dog in her vehicle, shivering from freezing weather conditions reports Covington.
