An Oregon man pled guilty recently for attempting to bribe a US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agent in the hopes that the officer would deport his current wife and her child from a previous relationship.

Antonio Oswaldo Burgos married his wife in El Salvador and subsequently brought her to the States with her child.

According to court documents though, the marriage began deteriorating in recent months and Burgos’ wife and child moved out of their family home.

According to US immigration lawyers, spouses, fiancees, and children of American citizens are allowed to stay in the US provided that they have all the correct documentation–like a K1 fiancee visa or K2 child visa.

Burgos trailed an official from the ICE office for 15 miles before offering the official $4,000 to deport his wife and her child.

Later, authorities at Homeland Security set up a sting and arrested Burgos.
