The Second International Congress on Love and Sex with robots in scheduled for November in Malaysia, but authorities have stepped in to say this would break the country’s laws, reports DPA International.
Inspector General Abu Bakar told a press conference in Kuala Lumpur on Tuesday “It’s not in our culture… it’s already an offense in Malaysia to have anal sex, let alone intercourse with robots.”

He continued: “I want to warn the organizers, don’t be ridiculous … We will take action.”
The conference website explains that it aims to bring together experts in computing, artificial intelligence and other related fields for scientific debates on the possibility of sexual relations with robots and computers.
“Within the fields of Human-Computer Interaction and Human-Robot Interaction, the past few years have witnessed a strong upsurge of interest in the more personal aspects of human relationships with these artificial partners.”
Company registration lawyers in Bangkok Chaninat and Leeds have assisted start-up technical and computer based companies in Thailand since 1997.
ThaiLawForum reported last month on how campaigners are trying to ban the development of such sophisticated “sex robots,” arguing that they are “very disturbing indeed.”
It is thought that red-light districts around the world will be taken over by sex robots by 2050.
Editorial comment: We also find the development of sex robots to be disturbing. Sex is a basic human need but by using a robot to fulfill this need it instantly loses what it is supposed to be – two humans joining together. Instead, why not give a voice to the vast numbers of prostitutes who would like prostitution to be legal and the work to be recognized as legitimate? If consensual sex is legal between two competent adults, why is the exchange of money for the same act deemed illegal?

This is so messed up I can’t even… as most of these robotic sex will be female and be for men – and so shaped like runway models, this only perpetuates the mainstream view that women are sex objects. Sick.
As if men need an excuse to treat sex robotically. Women need feelings in sex, not men.
I think it says more about your boyfriends than about men in general…
Why is no one talking about the hygiene aspects of this?? Even the skankiest prostitute is likely to shower every once in a while. But lazy brothels cutting corners may never wash these dolls. Also, a dude seeing a hooker isn’t likely to go in bear back, I cant imagine many men putting a condom on to put his thing inside a doll. These robots will be riddled.
Add to that that these dolls will likely have parts that are hard to clean. Cleaning inside a fake vagina that is sure to have been designed to be nice and tight… Ima guessing is going to take some effort!
Agree with the hygiene, but adding to this it’s important to be aware the health aspects in terms of rubbing your most sensitive organ against plastics and rubbers which are full of toxins. Especially if you use cheap sex toys frequently, you will almost certainly be doing your body harm. Also many rubbers are porous and can hide bacteria like a sponge. You can’t sterilize them! You people are missing the point entirely. These sex robots are not designed to take over from normal physical intimacy, nor will they necessarily be unhygienic if proper standards are upheld. These robots will provide comfort to thousands of people who don’t get their sexual needs, without resorting to seeking sex with a prostitute. The real issue is that the robots will be carefully regulated by the government and will act as mass surveillance systems, collecting not just audio and video but bodily fluids and DNA.
I don’t know why people keep calling this sex. This is just fancy masturbation.
