A notorious drug smuggler known as “Mr. T” or the “Malaysian Iceman” was sentenced to death by a Thai court last week along with his female Thai accomplice.

The two were found guilty under the harsh Thai Narcotics Act of 1979 for attempting to move 282 kg of crystal meth into Malaysia two years ago.

Two others involved with the illegal smuggling operation were also sentenced to death but later had their sentences decreased to life imprisonment after cooperating with Thai authorities during the investigation.

The Malaysia man and his Thai accomplice both resided in Hat Yai and were believed to be the masterminds behind the cross-border drug smuggling syndicate.
